Colonel Tom & the American Pour, Toronto-based “classic”country band, plays old-school honky tonk music from the 1940s, 50s and 60s. Leader Tom Parker grew up in Owen Sound listening to his grandad play old-time fiddle music, and found his real musical footing when he became part of the thriving Toronto country and bluegrass music scene. The “Colonel” pens his own throwback tunes, honouring what he and his band considers the golden age of country music.
He will be joined by Rob Fenton on the electric lap steel guitar and Sam Petite on the upright bass. They will be performing songs from their most recent release WORK. HORSE (available on Toronto's Cameron House Records), as well as a healthy helping of songs by artists such as Hank Williams, Roger Miller, Willie Nelson and Webb Pierce.
No bro country, no macho anthems, no line dances. You wanna two-step ? Well step right up, friends...Gonna be a party!
